Dryden Luncheon and on To Rossport

Up and at it early today. We wanted to go and fill the car with gas and go to the bank. It was only about a 2-hr drive to Dryden for the luncheon which was nice and best of all, it was SUNNY!
The Jewels in Dryden are wonderful and we had so much fun with them we hated to have to leave but we still had a long drive ahead of us.
Much to our surprise, they presented both of us with a backpack filled with gifts and local items.
I will show you photos of the event in Dryden then our drive to Rossport via Thunder Bay, as we skirted along a great many lakes but the largest being Lake Superior.
I will write more below about our trip.... which was pretty uneventful today and share our photos from the drive.

Dryden Luncheon was such fun!!!

Louise had to fill the car with gas in Dryden as the gas was less here than in Kenora or Thunder Bay.

We were interviewed by the media and photos taken.

The table with the two t-shirts that we ask everyone to please sign so we'll have the shirts as a memento of our adventure.

Dryden Jewels

After Dryden we stopped at the Terry Fox Memorial.  In 1980, with one leg having been amputated, he embarked on an east to west cross-Canada run to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Although the spread of his cancer eventually forced him to end his quest after 143 days and 5,373 kilometers (3,339 mi), and ultimately cost him his life, his efforts resulted in a lasting, worldwide legacy.

The drive from Thunder Bay to Rossport offered beautiful scenery and the sun was behind us (not in our eyes)

OK - Blog won't let me post more so will start a new one with rest of our day.....
